Okay, so last week I found a Granite True Value. It is a used fridge but the kind I have always wanted (fridge on top, freezer on the bottom) and as a part of the deal, True Value said they would deliver it for free. Great! Saved me 50 bucks.that I can kind of afford ($350) at the local downtown,
But I felt really bad for the two guys who had to deliver my fridge into my. I don’t think they knew what they were getting in to with this delivery job.
After they got the fridge up the stairs, they decided to measure both of the stairways that go down into the basement from the first floor. Of course the fridge would not fit to go down either of them. “How about moving the kitchen to the first floor?” one of the movers suggested. More plumbing and electric work? I don’t think so. Leave the fridge upstairs and go back and forth between kitchen and fridge to cook a meal? That didn’t sound ideal either. So I began to do what I always do in situations like this, pout. After my professional pouting skills, the delivery guys decided to go and measure the back door again (my purple door entrance that leads down to the basement). Yup, this time it will fit! But to get the fridge through the door, the fridge doors had to be removed as well as the three doors that lead into the kitchen. Also, they had to move the fridge back down the front entrance stairs and back on to the truck to move around back. Did I mention it was 10 degrees in the church? Anyway, the two delivery guys were so nice about the whole thing, and I am so happy that I get to have my big fridge in my kitchen!
I forgot to take a photo of the fridge once it got into the kitchen, I’ll have to take one and post soon.
